Exhibition and identity for The New Material Award at Het Nieuwe Instituut. This yearly prize is awarded to a dozen designers who found innovative ways of reusing existing materials or invented new ones. For the exhibition architecture we collaborated with Eric Roelen, who developed modules out of various recycled materials. Similarly, we designed a flexible system that adapted to Roelen’s scenography. Every participant was assigned a color and two wooden panels that carried the exhibition text. These panels were cut up into various parts and positioned in and around the exhibition modules. This resulted in fragmented typographies that were used for the poster and visitor’s guide.
